Nine of 23 Murals from Pam Wye-Hunsinger’s advanced art class that were part of St. Benedict's Harlem Renaissance project, a highly-publicized multi-disciplinary effort that included more than half of the school's student population last year, will be on display alongside works from professional artists during the current Fall Exhibition in the Orbit II Gallery at the Robeson Galleries on the campus of Rutgers Newark. These pictures were shot at the Grand Opening Reception at the Robeson Galleries on Sept. 17. Fifteen students from Dr. David Wolf's English class gave spoken word performances and nine members of Dr. Jeremy Fletcher's jazz band performed in the main gallery that evening.
"It was truly our pleasure to have St. Benedict's participate in our Fall exhibitions, as well as the opening reception," said Miesha Hayden, Robeson Galleries Manager and Education Coordinator. "I can't tell you how many comments I received about the talent (St. Benedict's) students displayed."
