Varsity vs Penn Charter 2017
St. Benedict’s, the No. 2 team in the country, remained perfect after three games, but did give up its first goal of the season, during a 3-1 victory over Penn Charter on Wednesday at Riverfront Park. Sebastian Chalbaud opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a right-footed blast from 25 yards out that went off the hands of the goalkeeper and into the top, right corner of the goal. Celio Pompeu set up the final two goals later in the first half – the first when Fil Lucas scored off a rebound and the second when Ronald Mafunzwaini converted a cross at the far right post. The Gray Bees, however, relinquished its first goal of the year in the 49th minute on a defensive miscue.
